We are all assuming that your CC can safely handle the output of the now parallel array - before you reach the time of day when that is likely to occur, it might be a good idea to check the specifications to confirm our assumption.

Sean, good point. I'm on a 60amp CC. Each panel is rated at 7.9 amps peak. From my understanding, the series string will be at 7.9amp peak and we double that for the parallel connection to the second identical string. 15.8amps peak for the total system.

Everything is working fine. It's making slightly less than double the west facing string did during peak sun. Good enough for me.
