PowerShed One
#1
Calling this PowerShed One, as it's my first attempt at a.. PowerShed, I suppose? I'm going to be using shelving, rather than wall mounting, so I can't really call it a PowerWall Smile

Been processing cells on and off for the last year. I have to estimate that I've saved about 200 cells thus far. The two Digital 4S chargers are for capacity testing; the 8 slot Foxnovo is for pre-charging, so the capacity test doesn't take as long. Works well!

Been sorting cells into 4 overall buckets: Dead (<1500 mAH), Fair (1500-1999 mAH), Good (2000-2499 mAH), and Awesome (> 2500 mAH). As expected, between 50-70% of cells are either Good or Fair.

Oh, shameless self-promotion. I am going to try to post videos of the shed build and pack build to YouTube. Channel name is bitblt (video card in-jokes being the best, obviously). Will this link work?

Nice start. What is your goal with the power shed? I currently have a 1.5 KW wall for my camper that is working well at 300 cells.

Thanks! Goal is to hit 80p14s, or ~ 10kWH. So it will be a little while!

I think you should paint it blue and call it the Tardis.   Big Grin

Hi and welcome! Looks promising, but the shed reminds me of something we call "Dixi" here... Big Grin

Cells tested: 6.072 (overall: 12.021 Ah, average: 1.980 mAh)
Cells in production: 2.940 (overall: 6.174 Ah, average: 2.100 mAh)
Wall bank: 7s420p, 882 Ah, 21 kWh

I assure you that it will smell better than that Smile

Hit the first snag on materials. The inverter that I ordered is 240v single phase, not split phase. So I can't use it for my charging station. Grr. Will need to have this inverter reconfigured for 120v single phase, and get a different inverter for 240v split phase.

First progress. Installed the vents on the sides of the sheds. The vents aren't level like I wanted, but they should give good airflow.

Waiting for the hole saw to arrive tomorrow, then these beasties can go in!

I think that I will have one fan on all the time, with the other one hooked up to a relay. That way, the Batrium can get additional cooling if needed, but my battery load is lower if not.

I'm assuming that your shed will be mostly in the shade. If not, I don't think those 3 fans will keep the temps low. Unless you're not looking for <110F in the shed with the doors closed.

Yes, it is mostly in the shade. I will have a 350w Bitcoin miner, a 150w Ethereum GPU miner, and a 120w Litecoin miner in the shed as well. That's a lot of heat load, so I don't want to take any chances Smile

Hrmmm, then maybe a few more fans Wink

You could put a few more at the top facing out that would draw the heat up and out and not push the air out through the door cracks. Even if there are vents at the top, you want the air flow to be directed where you want it, not let it just go where ever it wants to.
