REAL Anderson vs Chinese Anderson Connectors

I've been using real Anderson Powerpoleconnectors from Powerwerks but got curious and ordered a set from China...

The plastic housings on the real deal seems better, as in most sturdy and they feel like they might handle higher temps better, but the metal contacts dont seen too bad.

Legit to Legit feels great
Chinese to Chinese feels ok too
but legit to Chinese is where you feel the difference.

Just trying to see what other people have experienced?

I was thinking of using them for lower power connections, but I worry that long terms mix and match is going to end up crippling the quality of the system as a whole over time. Ive invested good money into these connectors but the savings are temping going generic.

I've seen pictures of the Chinese copies cracked, broken, and just general cheapness like contact size. Don't skimp, buy the right part for the job.

I figured as much... I already own and or consumed about $300-400 worth of brand name Anderson accessories over the past 2 years of projects. With that type of money invested I couldn't help but want to try a cheaper alternate, but sounds like its not going to buy me anything other than problems.

Cheap Anderson plugs suck don't even feel right when you plug and unplug them.

You are right, in fact that was the first thing I noticed when I started using them.

On the surface they look OK, but I know there is only one answer to get to the bottom of this... Throw 50+ amps across the real and fake 30 amp connector and make sure I take a video of it.

Lets see what happens.

Real to Real
Generic to Generic
Real to Generic because that actually feels the worst. It does not make that satisfying click when you insert them at all.

I just need to figure out how to build up the test bench so I can make sure I do arepeatable test.

Well that settles it... We shall sacrifice Crimp Daddy's Crimp Connectors to the wiring gods. It's the only way we are going to secure saftey from the electrical gobblins.
