Recycled Fuse Wire

I am testing some wire that I recovered from a blown speaker in one of my bass guitar amps.

The voice coil in the speaker seems to be the right gauge. It is insulated so I tried a low concentration acetone solutions (from an ex-girlfriend's nail polish LOL) to soften
remove the insulation. I think methyl ethyl ketone may work better but I was able to get most of the isulation off.

Just thought I'd throw this out there for the hard-core recyclers...!

It's an interesting idea and great to see people recycling, but honestly, tinned copper wire is very very cheap. Is it worth it playing with enamel coated wiring and acetone to get fuse wire?

True about the chemicals and new wire price. Just thought I'd put that out there for the hardcore recyclers, and maybe a late night battery builder
that needs fuse wire and the hardware is closed lol...

It was also not too difficult to remove the insulation mechanically...
