Yesterday,
I did a road trip,
delivered 1 Tesla pack to Lucas
collected an i-Miev 16Kwh battery-pack
bought an overstock Victron Quattro 5kVA

Today,
I parted out the i-MIEV pack,16Kwh of li-ion cells
88cells in total,
matching nicely a 14S6P 52.5Vnom 300Ah 15.75Kwh ESS.
4 cells as hotspare

OK,
together with the Victron Quattro, a top-end set,
If you combine this pair with a Batrium 14S bms kit,
one get's a lot of "BLUE POWER",
I even dug out a pair of Gigvac 300A+ contactors.(only in yellow...)
So people, here we have a nearly complete set,
but for lugs, some cablework, enclosure, etc,
all depending where you plan to put the lot.

Kingsday offer

All of this for 5555

Location Obdam, Netherlands, Europe
Shipping adr compliant no problem, only Europe...
complete kit stacked in pallet-box.

Interesting, Outback stuff is now made in India too...

Hi Carel,

I'm about to purchase an I-Miev battery pack here in Norway, have you dismounted one ? if so could you pls let me know if any special tools are need for opening the casing and also how you disconnect the 30V cells to get the overall pack voltage down ? i.e. is it some plugs to pull, in this case I only need gloves and goggles, or do I need more 1000V tools ?

Hello Toubab,

2 batteries in the i-Miev range + clones i-ON, C-Zero.
1 x 12V lead acid: system + the drive pack.
If disconnected from 12V, all contactors in drive pack are open,
when the safety plug is disconnected, HV power system is disconnected.
This does not imply the battery is harmless, still a lot of energy is stored in the cells

Have the pack well supported when working on it,
I usually take a forklift, or just have it on a flat trailer for working height.

Opening the cover is easy, 10mm bolts, and a lot of them, then lift off
Proceed with caution,
dismantle plastics first.
Look at the circuit, and take out most of the bolts/nuts. keyno:12mm, use a power drill with 12mm socket
Simply disconnect each block of cells by loosening nuts from busbar, bent barout to make room, lift battery block.
Keep copper, shunt, contactors

Check with your supplier/scrapper if the airvents of the pack had been closed, against moisture ingress.
If left in the open, surely the packs inside is wet/damp, and this can have spoiled the cells.

More info needed, just pm me
