Sorry to break into the Batrium Board, :D

I would like to ask if anybody knows cheap hardware for active balancing up to 48 Volts.

There are so many cheap chinese boards for BMS purposes, few are able to balance but only passive.

So anything simple and cheap for active balancing ?

I know already the QNBBM system.... i want to have someting simpler/cheaper.

Any idea or hint ?

Its hard to find anything cheaper or simplier. Yes simplier but then you go into a part where the reliability might be affected :(

Sidenote! Batrium is working on an active 14s system ;) But its not ready

Not sure but this could be active: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Sup...e0-4abc-93dc-f1d43e082c2b&transAbTest=ae803_4

Here you have one as well.

I have not tested them but would gladely do if I get them sent to me :)

I make the tester For Batrium, if i get a system free.....

The first is a surger, imho, theres not resistors but surging transistors, i guess.

The second one is active, nice find, but it is not for Li-Ion. Yes, the voltage barrier between 30 and 40 Volt makes things difficult.

Why is the reliability affected if it is built simpler ?

Cherry: Last one exist in many different versions. If you search some more you will find even more versions on Aliexpress or Alibaba.

Because Simpler in china words = cheaper stuff used and skip out on components that do make them reliable over time. I know that simple persue does not affect the reliability but for this kind of products bought over seas its the case!

I should though have used the word cost instead of simple :)

Im sorry to have pressed you :D

The second balancer daromer mentioned is what I use on my outhouse. I've done some simple test using a single cell 8s configuration in below post.

For most parts I think my batteries are well balanced and doesn't require a high current to maintain its balance so for this application the bms seems to work for me.

That is most welcome info.

The reason why i am looking for any active balance is because all cheap/simple passive balancers will only balance at the 4.2 upper Voltage.

As we all know packs will be used on a more restrictive voltage range.

Cherry: No worries! I'm always open for questions or feedback. Im not the master here and here to learn as all others and I do fail :D

This is more or less what would work for me. Probably i will buy it in the next days.

In fact, i would prefer to try a hardware i have in mind which would be so much simpler, but i will probably have no time to concentrate on that.

So, many thanks for the link to all !

Update:
Just i se this, its even cheaper  ..... is that a complete system ?

Ah, i guess its without balancing ?

Thats just the master unit/display. You need to add everything to it for it to work or do anything more than just measure voltages on the cells.

But I cannot find anything about balance function. It seem just to be a monitor unit with built in function to control 2 external relays for voltage and current protection.

The BMS24 contains balancing, the BMS16 obviously not.

Looks like that: The BMS24 do contain an extra unit that do the balancing :) Quite different price tag to

Yup, lots of click, click, click....

I LICKED..... stupid me ....

Looks like preprogrammed.
