Sanyo "R2112" cells?
#1
I got these strange Sanyo cells.
They look like US18650Y (see https://secondlifestorage.com/showthread.php?tid=1710 ) but only have SANYO R2112 written on them, plus 017A a little below, which might be the manufacturing date.

I have searched these forums but found no info at all.

Anyone got clues about this?

I have 300 of them, all unknown.
I will test them and put them in a separate pack or even string.
lets see what is coming out of them on mah.
I am going to have a close eye on that pack/string and take it of every 3 months or so, take it apart and test, just to be at the safe side.
But i am not experienced jet, so get an second opinion on this!

As far as i could read about sanyo, there was something about the last mV to get the cell full.
That makes the heaters, there was/is a trick or two to charge them fully to 4.2 volts.
For all i am concerned, they will be in a string that loads no more then 3.9v and there cut off will be at 3.1

this was my 1 cent of help, sorry i dont have more info or help

2800 cells in packs Exclamation above 2500mah and 90%soh.
~400 cells between 1800-2500 and above 90%soh(sell?)
600 cells between 2200 - 3000mah, 80-90%soh (sell?)
3000 waiting for testing.
approx: 0 cells not safe for use: dead, heaters, to high ir or sd/vamps

I checked my original cell table. I had 7 of these and they were rated according to the table info as 2800mAh and had a measured value of 2200mAh.
I don't remember the source of them and I don't know how much they were used/stored before the test.

Note that those are not US18650Y - the cap is lime-green (RGB 96-255-63) not nuke-yellow-green (RGB 192-255-63).

Thanks overmind.
Those are some battery numbers i can loke up.
Mine red cells are sorted in the color of the cap, but red is red in one pack, still have to test and solder.
The colors are:most dark blue, light red/pink and light green(maybe nuke yellow green)
I think with the purple/dark blue cap is the ur18650ea at 2350 mah.

We will see after the testing what is left, and with use what they are going to do
