Recently tested a few of this (with white ring) and the capacity was above 2200mAh in many cases (used the LiiToKala lii-500)

I have been finding more and more of these cells lately, with purple ring allright, but with no "UR18650**" text whatsoever. There only is "SANYO R1112 N41B" on the sample I have on hand right now. The lenovo pack it came out from claims 11.1V and 48Wh nominal, which calculates to 2162mAh nominal for the cells.

Yep I have the same results with the LiitoKala it reads at least 5% high.
If the IR of the cell is <55mΩ you will get good results

Hi every one
I have some of these cells ,some of them when charged wont get above 3.9v and when I leave them a longer time on the charger they heat up and still the voltage remains at 3.9v

It looks like they have some kind of internal defect of some kind. I think I've come across 1 or 2 cells with similar problem. Just leave or recycle them, I recommend discharging them fully first. There is no point of keeping a cell that does not even charge to 4.2.

hola a todos , una consulta estoy tratando de comprar la celda Sanyo, pero me di cuenta que mi pais no esta en la lista,
como lo puedo hacer para comprar? saludos desde Chile.

i found some of these in an old HP Laptop battery pack.

the raised text UR18650A is very difficult to read. it has a suffix of R12A.

there is also light black printing on the side, which says A RCCAYMB , with a numerical code beneath, 081811, numerical code looks different on each cell.

There is another single letter "B" printed nearer the end of the battery by itself.

It's easier to identify them by cap color and actual case color (fake red vs true red).

Have 7 of these with R2112 serial number, charged 3 with one UR18650F mixed in a 4 cell charger (usb power bank M09)and UR18650A-s went scolding hot at 500mA charge current while been half way from fully charged._

If you search google, this happens quite often on those.

Had this happening on a Packard bell battery, and now in my pulled Dell battery pack from 2012.
These are getting so hot that my SkyRC charger says these are to hot for charging.
I've set the temp now to max 50c and hopefully it does charge all the way to 4.20v with 1510ma charge current.

But i've had a heater from a Panasonic last night to, didn't know that. Had them on a refresh program and didnt look after during the night.

Sanyo heater, same model as you mentioned. They were all discharged down to 2.5v @1a and then straight back to 4.20v with 1.51A.

I have two 2600mah sanyo's with Keeppower wrapper and they don't heat up at all.

Little clarification about different color rings: UR18650A's manufactured in Korea has white ring, but ones made in Japan has purple. Got both out of two Dell J1KND battery packs that stated the cell origin._

I have a couple pictures for you all, i got some of these from modem packs.

The numbered stickers are mine. Here's all the info written on the shrink ; Sanyo UR18650A u52b QUKQXAY2 041186

The modem packs seller says those are not the heater sanyo's

Edit : i got a second modem with those. I noticed the bottom ( collector ) have 2 UL NCA etched on it.
