One reason of joining was to investigate 'waste-streams' generated by (e-Bike) batteries packs. To my knowledge they are not mass-recycled and/or dismantled. Basicly just collected and stored. In NL a non-profit organisation Stibat is responsible for gathering this battery packs.

Recovering batteries generate a lot of waste:
  • Hard-plastic casing
  • Copper Wiring
  • Plastic sleeves
  • Scrap metal (tabs, screws, casing etc)
  • Circuit boards
  • Batteries

Wondering which resources can be re-claimed, how-to process them? Since it take quite some effort to separate the different resources, could potentially generate an revenue stream?

When looking in Netherlands:
  • Hard-plastic, Plastic sleeving are general waste. (-0.25 EUR/kg)
  • Copper wiring (2 EUR/kg)
  • Scrap metal (1 EUR/kg)
  • PCB low-grade (1 EUR/kg)
  • Scrap metal (0.05 EUR/kg)
  • Batteries (???)
Yet what about the itself batteries itself? Where to bring those in NL and how-to prepare them?
