You started out buying a 4 pack of lithium cells after hearing a friend talk about his powerwall project. You figured you'd mess around a bit to see what all the intrigue was about. It didn't seem like a problem. You thought you could control it. Now you're not sure, but you think you may have a lithiumaddiction.

If you have experienced any of these signs, seek help:

You used to buy a few cells at a time, but now your purchases measure in kilowatt hours.

What started out as hitting a few cells on the charger each weekend has turned into a daily habit.

Your collection of chargers rivals your cousin's bong collection.

When at work you have intrusive thoughts wondering if the cells on the charger have cycled, and you're praying they have a high mAh rating.

Your friends have started avoiding you because you can't go 5 minutes without bringing up the topic of an 18650.

You used to just buy 18650's, but you've branched out to lipos, liFePo4,...pretty much anything you can get your hands on.

Your wife is concerned about your spending habit, so you've started making secret purchases on your credit card and asking for shipments to be in unmarked boxes.

You've said to yourself, "Just one more kilowatt hour, then I'll quit."

:D

Shit, addicted! :)

I've decided to join an L.A. group. you know Lithium Anonymous. They are a great help, they stop you from trying to get your next recycler hit and all that

You've acknowledged the problem and sought help. Im proud of you! :D

And every time you walk past a skip full of ewaste, it becomes exceedingly difficult to fight off the urge to go bin diving.

Or when you get a dead laptop battery you pull it apart, even though you know most of the time the cells in it won't be much good.

Wood burning stoves have a similar group, skips and anything combustable prove to be too much of an addiction.... they are like eye magnets.

When you're in vacation in a stranger country and you're trying to find at the entrance of the shop cells in the battery recycling thrash

I think i am definately at risk of becoming a Lithium Battery Addict. I am not right now, but i think i have all the makings. I cant stop thinking about them. Day and night. I find my self constantly distracted by thoughts of battery building. So I'd better be carefull, or I will become the next victim of Lithium addiction.

Lithium battery's blow me away. I often cant belive how much energy is packed into such a relatively small size and mass. my whole life I have hated batteries and anything battery powered. I would always Opt for an AC>DC power supply whereevri could. That is, untill recent times. Anything powered by lithium batteries (at the very least) does the job. Wether we are talking about battery power tools, ebikes, Vaporizers, torches, power walls, EV's. Everything is good now that lithium can do it.

Im a little suprised lithoium is not even more wide spread than it already is. Oh well, im sure it wont take but a few more years. not to mention all the new chemistry batts that are comign along as well.

I find lithium cells and the battery packs we can make sooooo exciting. so i can totally see how it could easily get out of hand.

I think the worst symptom would be, every time you see a battery powered device, you have visions of how you would convert it to run on lithium batteries.

This is indeed my "problem " too.

So far the most flashlights i have do now have li-ion plus tp4056 charger board.
I have now 3 multimeters run on li-ion
Handheld vacum cleaner from nimh to li ion
Wireless hot glue gun , update to 2 times bigger capacity li-ion.
Bought a couple of bosch psr and gsr 9.6 and 12v handheld drill only for the fun to upgrade the battery packs to 3s and 4s
All my neigbours with dead nicads on theire drills
All upgraded to li-ion.
Closet light , ledstrip with motionsensor and 2 x AA battery , upgraded to 1 x li-ion cell
More to come iam afraid ???
