Update:
New charge controller arrived after a long wait.



Unfortunately, one must first buy an adapter from serial to USB to read the charge controller Sad



if someone is looking for a good adapter, I have the link on Amazon here.

According to the instructions, first the battery is connected to the charge controller and then the solar cells.
If the solar cells are connected without a battery, the charge controller would break. At least that's how it stands in the manual.
What happens if my BMS switches off the battery because a battery pack has overvoltage or has an undervoltage?

It will most likely damage the charge controller.

The reason the battery needs to be connected first is that the FETs or other switches can be turned on/off in the proper order. If the solar is connected first, the protection FET isn't turned on yet and energy will flow into the wrong places. This causes either a driving transistor to go boom, or the IC to die.
Usually after connecting a battery, and even later disconnecting, there's enough charge to allow the solar to be connected and not do any damage. But this isn't recommended. Try to always connect these types of devices in the proper order to not damage the unit.
