You're not that far off the mark.
As soon as I can put some pics and drawings up you'll follow it no problem.

I work mainly in industrial/commercial fields. Occasionally I get an easy day and do some domestic work.

Sometimes we can't help but get wet, even the best of us can isolate the wrong valve once in a while. LoL

We had a domestic plumber in our village who's nickname was Leaky Len, he was renowned for causing floods, usually because he'd forget to cap an open end somewhere before filling the system.

I can give you more info on how it's connected up if your interested but it shows the basic layout of the tanks, pipe work etc.

My Solic 200 is supplying the bottom 3 kW heater in my Heat Bank and the 3kW heater in my pre-heat tank via a change over contactor so that I can switch back and forth between the two.

Mine was like that yesterday 0.74kWh. Generation today was 2.98kWh.
Luckily the snow only lasted a couple of days here. But it has been very wet with dark clouds since the snow fall.

Funnily enough i came across an old install today in a pool plant room that's utilising the same flue has heat recovery unit as mine.

This is what it looks like. This one is doing hot water only, but the principle is the same, omit the flue gas heat recovery unit, fit a solar supplied immersion heater in the pre-heat tank and it would work the same way.

This tank has a couple of coils in it for segregation purposes. They are also using a feed from the heating system for pasteurization.



Sorry this thread has gone a little of topic with all the plumbing and heating talk, the intention is to show how surplus  PV solar can be incorporated into hot water storage systems.

Another low day for generated solar power. Managed 2.15 kWh, however we've had rain and dark clouds all day.

Slight increase again today, managed to generate 3.19 kWh, still have about an hour of light left.
Don't think it'll produce much now though.

Dry and cloudy today with sunny spells.
