So after reading tons of stories and watching hours of YT clips I've finally started off with the basics... 'salvaging cells' !!

In the beginning there was nothing...

After some searching I've finally found some sources. All of them are ebike battery packs (Bosch, Giant, Panasonic, etc...).
So far I opened about 10 packs (still about 30 to go :D) and I have a yield of 87,5% good cells (no voltage drop). Capacity still needs to be tested as my Opus devices are on the way.

You need some proof for my 'gold star' ? Here's a pic from what I've opened up so far, some cells not in image as they are in chargers. More pics will follow later as project progresses and cellcount will grow rapidly:cool:

If my yield stays like this, when all is done, I should be able to get to 14S80P maybe 14S100P. So that should give me a good start.
Project due date should be around spring 2019.

The gold star is for known tested cells :) Message me when you have an update and the opus in production :p Great start tho!

What's this gold star thingy?

Full time testing and still dismantling (Have about another 20 ebike packs laying around ready to crack open).

As soon as I have 1120 cells fully tested, I will start assembling the packs. Still on track for starting up in spring 2019.

In the mean time the inverter has already arrived (MPP Solar PIP-5048GE) and I'm looking out for a good deal on solarpanels for the moment.

nice keep it up!
i have a question out of which model ebike battery packs came the dark and light green cells next to your XTAR charger?

They were actual Panasonic battery packs. Out of the 43 packs I salvaged, unfortunately I only found 2 :(
