Tesla Battery Fire - Thermal Runaway

Found this video whilst on YouTube. Scary situation and worth noting from a safety perspective if you are considering using Tesla batteries, or probably any battery of this type/chemistry.



They mention thermal runaway, so would be interested if there are those of you that know more about it?

Hey Carel. They say at the end of the video there was no BMS and no cooling. Which probably explains why it happened Tongue

And no, they did not use a BMS and were using a dumb charger with no balance/sense leads

Hahahah no worries. I was just posting the link because there were other comments over there.

For those interested, I would really recommend reading the comments of the video. There's a lot going on there. One of the topics of discussion was the fact there were a few seconds of video clip deleted right where he unplugged the power cable. Still not sure why those frames are deleted
