Hello

I aim collecting and testing cells for 2 years now. And it is time to finally build my powerwall.

The idea is that my plug in hybrid car can charge fully from the sun.

Here in my country grid tied solar panels are taxed idiotically so your pay back time is 20 years.

Hence the idea for a powerwall!

Same here :p !!!!

Still in the 'testing phase' of my cells. Due date for my project is next spring. By then I should have about 10kWh which makes it interesting to start of with. That means I would be able to run nearly everything of the powerwall during 'sunny months'.
Only thing I still need to buy are the solar panels. I think that 3000Wp should be sufficient to charge a battery of 10kWh and maybe use some power during the day as well.

Happy building !!

You have a new sub :) the First video is the hardest.... I like your legs...

Yup, second that. And a nice shade of blue, too ;)

Hey Tim!
Great first video :D

Best of luck on the project!

Small remark though... That copper pipe seems awfully much like a natural gas pipe.
First and foremost, this forum is about helping others to keep things safe!
So what guarantees do you have your batteries won't be able to make that pipe burst in case something would go wrong?

So far the rack isnt completely finished. But i can tell you now. The rack sits around 50cm from the wall awey. And the gas line is against the wall. If the rack goes up in flames. The distance does not matter then. All cells will have a seperate fuse. Every pack will have its own fuse. And before the inverter also. Fire will only happen with heavy overcharge then. But a good bms will help prevent that.
