So I was processing some laptop batteries and came across some cells I've never seen before. I was hoping you guys could help me identify and possibly have some specs on these. They look like they'd pack well so I'm curious about using them.

Look like Prismatic Cells - 4.2v not sure on capacity but seen them many times within laptop batteries with 3 18650's and 3 of those. Many use them for remote controlled cars and the likes

They are common in older models with limited space, specifically limited height when a 18650 won't fit or would add more height than deemed acceptable. It's the predecessor to LiPo pouch cells, sort of.
It's usually very old technology with low capacity as you can see, yours had 1300mAh when they were new. That's a typical capacity. Many of the ones I've seen were made by Panasonic, not sure if datasheets exist. Given their age the specs are probably worthless anyway. I guess it's safe to say that you should not expect much of these cells.

I guess they are Panasonic cells, maybeUF653450S. Are there any markings on the heat shrink? Can you measure the dimensions of a cell?

I did a capacity test on some last year and the cells were right around 2000 mAh . I have some marked Panasonic, and Samsung.
50 mm x 35 mm x 10mm +/- 1 mm

later floyd

Hands were faster than the eye, other words I didn't look at both photos. 1300 mAh is correct

I think your cells were 103450s which i've tested. The cells shown byxxlawman87xx are 1300mAh ones.

Did some testing on them and they are at 1100 mah now. Crazy high internal resistance. Maybe I'll play with them for oddball projects...or they will hit the recycle bin. Thanks for the help guys
