So at this point I have a small collection of victron parts and I figure I should just keep buying blue things!

I need a 24vdc to 12vdc converter for a 7s40p portable battery I am building. Here is what I am considering:

https://shop.pkys.com/Victron-Energy-Orion-Tr-2412-20-240W-Isolated-DC-DC-converter_p_6688.html
https://shop.pkys.com/Victron-Energy-Orion-2412-25A-DC-DC-Converter-with-25-Amp-Output_p_1697.html

Is there any reason why I should avoid the first one I linked? It is the cheapest that does 20 amps and it looks pretty durable.

If you're actually going to use the full 20A you might want to size up for longer life?

That is a good point. I think most loads will be 5-10 amps of 12v. Mostly to run LED lights. Since I'm not looking to push the output rating the cheap, hardened converter should be fine!

The price difference isn't huge. The bottom two have the advantage that they are adjustable. Also check out Daygreen on Aliexpress. Their converters are very cheap, and I haven't had a problem with mine.
