There's several pools out there. The big ones I'm aware of are Nanopool, MiningPoolHub, DwarfPool, andNiceHash. I know there's others out there, and they all have pros/cons associated with them.

What is your pool of choice and why did you choose that one?
Do you use more than one pool and why?
Do you use the AutoExchange feature? If so, what is your coin of choice and why?

Tryin to get my head wrapped around everything. There are things I don't know or understand, and I'm not exactly sure what to search for onYT. I like the idea of mining, and producing heat for the house, but I "need input" (spoken in a computer/robotic-ish voice; anyone catch the reference?)

- Nanopool. Because Minergate sucks and Peter suggested it

Do you use more than one pool and why?
- Nope. It is probably good to have a failthrough though if you see your choice of pool being unreliable.

- No. Two reasons. 1) I am certain the coins I am mining will increase substantially in value if held on to. 2) Tax regulations in my country are a nightmare right now for cryptocurrency. I'm having a hard enough time figuring out how I need to report mined coins. Each time you exchange one crypto for another, you have a taxable transaction that needs filed. I haven't the slightest clue how to do that. Keep it simple until the government works out what they're going to do...

I've been using nanopool with both minergate and Claymore for both eth and xmr. using minergate's pools currently for bytecoin.
As I am also looking to use claymore to mine other coins, so those require different pools - like I like the music coin, and those don't use nanopool.
I'm finding challenges figuring out which exchanges to use form different currencies and how to get them out of pools effectively into my wallet. - same issue as mike with not being 100% sure what to do with capital gains taxes and the like. I'll get there, but for now, just letting them grow.
Smiles. H

I use Nanopool however considering changing to ethermine.org as alot of my new 'miner friends' use it successfully

Ahhh, you have miner peer pressure to switch :p

I'm testing out a program called MultiPoolMiner. Right now it doesn't work on Nanopool, but does on MiningPoolHub, NiceHash, YiiMP, Zpool, and a few others. I'm only using Nicehash and MiningPoolHub pools on it right now. So far it seems pretty good. It works a lot like NiceHash Gui program in that it will switch pools, algos, coins, servers to get the best hashrates and conversions.
You can adjust how sensitive it is on switching, too.

It uses PowerShell, basically .bat or .cmd programming on steroids :p
