Good day to all,

I've done some good reading around this million dollar site.
Went back 7-8 months in time!

I came up with the following, feel free to correct or supplementwhere you think it might be necessary.
I want to do this from cell one properly, please.

We have some cells after harvest, we don't know nothing about them, no soc soh ect.

#0: write down the original mah on the cell
#1: charge them to 4.2 volt, with 500mah, check for heaters
#2: we leave them for one week minimal, i am set for twoweeks.
#3 check volt drop if its more then 0.3v: start over to wake upor bin?
#4 discharge to 3.5v to let the tp charge it again to 4.2v(1ah) exactly, check for heaters.
#5 testing the discharge according to fabric specifications(v and mah). Write the outcomedown on the cell
#6 charge to 3.5v for storage(in my case charge to 4.2 and than discharge to 3.5).

My powerwall will work with less than 500mah per cell, and in between 3 and 4 volt, no more no less, i think.

I am going to use some tc and tp 4056 and the zb2l3 in my setup.
I understand that the voltage out on the tp must be checked if the are the same( to "pair" them), I will order a 30 pieces and find ten that are exactly the same in volt output, for the capacity test.
Now the zb2l3 can be calibrated, if you have some equipment for it, I dont have those kind of lab stuff, sorry for me.
But there was a way to "pair" them with a condensator/capacitor, how do you do that?

The cells that wont charge, they will get a manually charge to 3,3 volts
I am planning to use a power supply from a computer.
I also have in possession some really heavy power supply's that can be regulated between 4 and 6 volt, or just stick with the power supply from a computer?
I hope i am on the right track now, i really want to get started, more and more battery's are flying in.

Got some if not a lot of questions and i hope to see some answers hints and tricks for this trade.
Let me hear your thoughts on this

Thanks in advance!

You charge with mA/A (Current). mAh/Ah is capacity

I test like this:

Howy.....sorry for that goofup....Currant and capacity, i will pay more attention, thanks!

I downloaded this chart two weeks ago, this was/is my point to ask questions.
And to start to build a charger/discharger/tester, to do it good for those cells

Because it makes a lot of sense, but i want to learn more, not only how to do it but also why.
And man...you got a lot of posts to read....that alone will keep me busy for a month or two.
Witch i dont mind!

Best and thanks in advance

:)

The chart I made above is just based on one of the simpliest ways doing it with the ready made testers out there. You can optimize it more but this system is based on changing cells 2x day and works good for many.

The reasons you do certain steps have been answered many times and if you have specific questions let us know and we will for sure answer!

Thanks daromer,
So i am on the right track.
I am starting to understand some things and there why.
Let's tweak the process furthermore.

Wolf's info is also great.

If i have specific questions i will surely ask, thanks in advance

Ah that Wolf guy again. Don't believe anything from him all he does is post facts that he has recorded. Oh wait that me. :p
Now Daromer has the good info. :D

Now to the facts.
So I have a bunch of ICR18650-30B cells and from the initial IR readings I knew that they were not going to perform. (IR measurement ISthe initial time saving step) this info is to ("to keep with the thread subject of after harvest: testing, how?") So I ran them through my testers anyway just to prove a point. Number 1 point it was a waste of time to do anything with these cells and number 2 point is it was a waste of time. The only good thing was that it builds the database with more valuable IR measurements.
Now remember IR can only be accurately measured according to the manufacturer with the4 wire kelvin methode at 1kHz AC.
I can definitely say that if the IR of an ICR18650-30B is above 50m? it will most likely be a low mAh performer compared to its2950mAh rating. My lowest IR cell of the ICR18650-30Bis 55.4m? and it barely scratches 80% (76.92%) of capacity. There are some exceptions but very few.

Musik in my eyes.... :D

It is only a timesaver for those that is going to bin all low value cells. Most People here want to use Them for 2nd type projects.

This is from a guy that spends 10 seconds on each cell no more :p
You know me. I would not spend more time than needed during a test phase since 10 seconds per cell or even 3 minutes extra time would in the end result in days for me....... link

That is why when I get another ~1000 or so I will advertise and give them away. :D

Yes i do One test and One test only. Time is money :)

I see your avatar - 146 kWh. Are you still adding ?? Is there a reason for ? (sorry, curious)

Spoken like a true capitalist.

Shows me that you have more money than time. In my case i have more time than money. So I am waiting for all that time to turn to money. :D

No seriously I do agree with you, but (there is always a but) if time can be saved harvesting and testing cells (see... back on topic again) then it is worth our time to investigate it.I am spending my time to enrich my life with more knowledge and understanding of all this and sharing this experience with others.
You have a huge head start on me so i take all your advice with a certainpreeminence and hopefully learn from it.

Cherry No i dont add right now but IF i find a great deal i Will not hesitate to add more or swap out.

Wolf :) dont have money but have less time... ;)
