I started gathering laptop batteries 2 years ago, till date I have gathered over 8000, processed more than 2000 laptop batteries and 6000 yet to be processed. my first build which I just completed is a 240p, 14s made up of 3,360 cells from 1700mah to 2200mah, the average from my calculation is 2010mah. my processing rig consists of 16 pcs imax B6 and 60 pcs Liitokala Lii-500 chargers for capacity and IR testing. I do a 3 stage testing of batteries above 1.5v. first, heat test, capacity test and self discharge test. so far I have recorded 55% good cells, 45% bad cells.

more pictures coming soon.
I am expecting more 4x5 cell spacers to start my second 240p, 14s with better cells, 2200mah to 2800mah.

stay tuned

Good work bud - some useable storage there!

Is that duct tape around the packs though?

What's wrong with duct tape? :p If it's good enough for MacGyver... ;)

Any time I've used duct tape, it holds well and looks good in the beginning but it dryrots fast, especially when exposed to sun. It then becomes a pain in the butt to remove cleanly (near impossible). The only thing duct tape is good for is temporary fixes until you buy proper parts or on actual ducts.

Try using the white duct tape. that stuff will last a looong time even in the sun. And, it's worse than the grey stuff.

But I do agree, should only be used temporarily and is a pain to remove later. I believe the working time for clean removable of good duct tape is about 40 days.
