I have some lower range cells that are to low for main packs but want to use them for testing my pack build skills while i am getting larger number for main build. Just making sure I am understanding correctly.

the pack that i have on hand is based on a 24v 7S.. The pack is small and will be a 6P with 7.6AH of storage. Each was testing at 1 amp to keep it standard.

When making the buss bar, i am based on light duty use. So I would not expect more than 1 amp pull on each cell.

when doing the total load for the cable, would I count each string... 6 on this one for max of 1 amp = 6 amps plus the 6 others for a max of 42 and then add a buffer of some to be safe..and base on 60 amps total?

I thought I had a clue and then clue showed me that I didnt.

Each 6p unit in 7s configuration increases the voltage but not the amperage. So 6p at 1amp per cell = 6amps @ 24v (not 42amps).

Every increase in P configuration will increase amperage capabilities. If you plan on only pulling 1A max per cell and you have 6P, then it is assumed you will pull no more than 24A from the whole string.
cells in P = amps increase
cells in S = volts increase

If you planned for 60A, then you would be doing 10A per cell. which you won't be doing with those cells unless you wanna try to see fireworks.

Series connections do not affect amperage at all

I was off in my head about the 42 and mixed up.

I can wire in AC stuff with ease but DC kicks my ass pretty hard.

This pack that I am working on, it is small and to practice on to get right as i move toward the larger pack.

I am not understanding the math that you get the 24A.

how are you getting 24A? 7S 6P. I get the 24v and 6 amps.. The 6 cells are totally on each string at 7600 mah.

so the total would be 24v 7S6P at 7.6ah...

Whoops, my math mojo went left field there. I meant 6A total, not 24. I think I glanced up at the previous post and it affected my math :p

sooooo, this is the updated post:
