Hello!

I have some ebike batteries left from the brand "Raleigh". After dissembling the enclosure, i have some problems by separating the cells form the bus bars... Every time I rip off the nickel strip on the negative side of each 18650 cell, i'm destroying the cell, because the bar is spot-welded very well... The nickel strip is also very thick (in comparison to other ebike battery bus bars). So I rip off a piece of battery every time (see picture).

How do you separate those cells? I already tried it with a Dremel-multitool, but this is a lot of effort / risks... Do you have any hints?

Tanks a lot!
Klaus

Use side snips to get super close to the cell. You may have to leave a small tab section on the cell.

Hi,

this is not possible... I usually disassembly Bosch batteries with very thin bus bars. But these Raleigh bus bars were 0.65mm thick. This is even hard to bend with a huge side snip!
