Hi folks.

Just a quick question regarding safe discharging of 18650s

I recently got some new LG cells rated for around d 5 amps in the title, yet looking at their data sheet (after purchase lol) their standard dischard is less than one amp.

Looking at an example off this forum:

2.50V Cutoff
680mA Standard
5000mA Maximum

Does this mean that you can safely discharge anything between the two values? If that the case that's great, otherwise I'll have to find an alternative use for the cells :/

Cheers!

Maximum is Short bursts or with monitored temperature. They get dead hot at their max rating.

I would not go above 1.5a on such a cell continues :)
If you need high current get ebike Barts that do 20+.

/D
