We should have the option for other chemistries and types. I realize 18650 is the most popular option, but there's a lot of others that people are using for power walls. Myself, half will be 18650's and the other half from cell phone cells. Would be awesome to be able to see the community total power storage capability from all diy projects. Maybe even a breakdown of how much storage in each type. Only thing left off should be any commercially purchased battery storage imo.

If we added additional chemistry, just wondering how we would best organize it? I'm thinking project-based where the user can enter data for each of their projects. They would enter a project name, number of cells, average capacity, then pick from a pre-defined list of chemistries we entered. The voltage of the cell would be best on the predefined list, so they wouldn't have to enter that. They could still pick a thread from the projects section to link it to.

With this method, one person can have more than one project in the cell database. So if they're building a powerwall out of Lithium Ion 18650s and a eBike pack of Lithium Phosphate, both could be entered separately. We could then have filters based on cell type/size and separate counts for each.

Thoughts? Any other ideas before I start building it out?

That would work. What about someone like Daromer who has LiCo and LiFePo in the same powerwall build? Or could they list both under the same project name but have 2 entries in the cell counter DB?

That's all I got for right now :)

2 ways to do it

1. Per project and then per chemistry in that specific project. Chem + capacity or what ever you want for a number. Preferable number of cells and type
2. Total only ie chem type + capacity.

In my case it would have been like this

project 1 :
Bank1 : LiFePo4 -> 19200 cells. capacity per cell: 1.3Ah. Form factor: 18650
Bank2: LiIon -> 3360 cells. Capacity per cell in avg 2.2Ah Form factor 18650

Potentially i could add bank3 that is LiIon and lets say 800 cells capacity 1.8Ah avg and form factor 18650 :)

I would do this per user where each user can have n projects and each project can have n chemistries/formats.

Be interesting if you filled out the community cell counter it also added it to your signature

It could certainly do that, but how would you handle users who already have something in their signature? Just append it to the bottom? Or instead of signature, what if it automatically filled out a profile field that showed up on the left where it shows number of threads/posts/join date?

I don't know the details.. i'm just the bad idea man...lol

Instead of putting it in signature add it to the left side where the avatar is. Could be some short summary. For instance post and threads can be on 1 line and so forth.

I think its a good or atleast nerdy idea to have that data somewhere :D Braaaag all day :p

Or a kind of pop-up when hovering with your mouse over the avatar, with a complete discription... needlots ofplace to brag :D
