Hi I'm Stijn from belgium.
I've been "using" solar energy for about 10 years. Got 4800Wp on the roof, producing around 5000Kwh every year.
Ive been thinking of building a diy powerwall for about 2 years now and decided its time to go forward and put the idea in to reality.

As of today i dont have anything besides the pv installation, im still in the process of gathering info and watching youtube video's.

The main idea I have is to use the powerwall as a buffering system, where i can use as much solar energy as possible before feeding it back in to the grid.
In winter im planning to top up the powerwall overnight if solar production wasnt enough to fully recharge the powerwall.

I live in belgium where solar energy production has been oversubsidized for a long time, im with the lucky ones were i get paid a fixed amount for every 1000Kwh produced.
There is also a tax per 1Kwp a year, the tax amounts for about 30% of what i get as a payement per 1000Kwh produced.

But the goal is to be less relient on the grid and use my solar production more efficiently.

The first thing now is to start looking for used 18650's, so any ideas how to acquire them is welcome. So far havent been lucky to find them easily.
If thats not working out i guess ill be buying them on aliexpress.

So for me the story is just starting.

Looking forward to learn from this forum and hopefully be able to help other people as well.

Best regards,

stijn
