Need more miles for battery

Congrats on getting a sponsorship! Not to throw a wrench in the things, but batteries may be hard to transport over the airplane. They have strict regulations on what you can bring onboard. Maybe have them sent over or purchased locally.

But on the plus side, if you do get it, you need to find out what's the max charge these batteries can take. It doesn't take much to charge such a small battery. For example, floydR's ebay link is a 24Ah battery. So theoretically you can charge at 20A (20A*24V=480W) for an hour and have it almost 80% charged (any more would be difficult since a CC/CV charger would taper off to get to 100%). So if you were able to stop somewhere, grab a drink, and ask them graciously if you can charge up your battery for an hour. It's a coronavirus world, otherwise you could stop at a Starbucks and plug in while having a coffee......

Wheels and tire repair kits are probably what's going to be needed lots. If you plan to do a lot of camping then a small single person tent. A poncho or something for the weather may help (even though water seems to find its way in). I did a motorcycle trip over fifteen years back around Nova Scotia so this brings back memories.

I am looking at a few different options and back ups.

not2bme, you are on the ball mate thanks for all the info.
I intend to sail to NY, I do not like flying, also it will save a lot of hassle with my gear.
I will do a list and keep you up to date if I have missed anything out just let me know.
I picked up the frame today, its not perfect but I have tested it with a action camera on it and it works.
The wing mirrors and rubbish to will have to look for a better pair.
I have asked Efoldi if they can design something similar for their customers because when on the road mirrors are important. Will see what they say.
Will post a picture of it tomorrow.
I am thinking of a mini trailer, that will have a tent like attachment to it so I can sleep in it. Yes something else to work on.
NS trip cool, did you do that in the summer? I went there last year, before I had Tank Girl.
Oh Wed with two fully charged batteries I will test run her on the cycle path, its about 20 miles and will use that as my training ground.
I was planning to lose a stone in weight to compensate the stuff I will be carrying, but at this rate, it might have to be a bit more than that :D

Efoldi would be in a better postion to say 1) if it can be done 2)miles per Ah, But I would guess 20+miles. based on your 10 miles for your 12 Ah battery.

Yes you could use something like that. Not sure if the mAh is right, looks way to high.

I have one of the Allpowers Here that was brought in for repair and same guy has another one with similar issues...

The problem with this one is that it wont charge from either solar or mains power... I took it to bits and it looks like the BMS has a problem... I didnt take any photos of disassemble but still have it in bits in the workshop, Most of it looks good quality but the output voltage from the BMS flicks from 8v to 12v

After dismantling the battery itself, i found that all cells were equally charged and have 3400 to 3500mAh capacity.

I will nip up and get the specs of the cells but they are chinese brand cells.

No worries Floyd...

You were right though the mAh is way too high that they advertise, they are calculating it at 3.5Ah per x the 30 that are in... Its actually 35Ah
